11th KFC Langkawi International Regatta Perdana - Day 2

Day 2 in the 11th Langkawi International Regatta Perdana and the weather looked much more promising for racing than yesterday. Sunshine, solid wind and three races scheduled across the three courses.
Over the Optimist's course, race 2 of the A fleet saw the young sailors spread evenly cross the starting line. The best start from the leeward end was from the MUHAMAD UZAIR AMIN BIN MOHAMAD YUSOF [MAS 76] with MUHAMMAD FAUZI BIN KAMAN SHAH [Mas 9006] close by.
They chose the left hand side of the course and after a tricky upwind ZAIFAH ZAIRIE HAIDI BIN ZAINAL [MAS 1030] rounded the top mark first coming from the right side of the course.
Downwind ZAINAL [MAS 1030] kept his lead and continued on to the last leg of the race choosing the left hand side of the course. After a drag race downwind SHAH [MAS 9006] and YUSOF [MAS 76] round the 3rd mark a few places behind the leader. SHAH [MAS 9006] chose the right side and was fast enough for a place in the top 3. Finally YUSOF, [MAS 76] after a tricky upwind leg, crossed the finish line a few metres ahead of ZAINAL [MAS 1030].
A cracking day two of the championship with some full on racing in superb conditions.
