1O1O return as title sponsor for Hong Kong Match Racing Series 2014

by RHKYC Media 30 Nov 2013 17:19 GMT April - May 2014

1O1O will again be the Title Sponsor of the Match Racing Series hosted by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in Victoria Harbour. The 1O1O Match Racing Series includes the Hong Kong Nationals and International Match Racing Regatta in May 2014.

Last year, some of the top match racing skippers from around the globe visited Hong Kong for this major event, including current world #2, Ian Williams from the United Kingdom and world #5, Phil Robertson from New Zealand.

To Make "YES!" Happen on land and sea with the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, 1O1O will engage the match racers and their customers with regular updates and features on the 1O1O Match Racing Series.

"The 1O1O Match Racing Series is a perfect regatta to start off the match racing season. Victoria Harbour provides great conditions for match racing and we thoroughly enjoyed the event in 2013. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is one of the best clubs in the world and we do our best to get back there as often as possible. Hopefully we can participate again in 2014." – Phil Robertson, WAKA Racing

"The 1O1O Match Racing Series is a top level international event with some of the best match racers in the World competing. The racing takes place in Victoria Harbour which is a tricky venue, but perfect for spectators to see the racing up close. The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is a very welcoming host and all the teams enjoy coming to the regatta." – Ian Williams, Team GAC Pindar

The 1O1O Match Racing Series promises to be even more exciting as the Club has added a special Junior Match Racing Championship during the month of April 2014. The Club hopes that this new addition to the sailing calendar will foster the interest and development of junior sailors in this exciting discipline of sailing.

"It is definitely our pleasure to bring the 1O1O Match Racing Series back again with the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club this year," said Danny Mok, Chief Marketing Officer and spokesperson for 1O1O.

"Unlike the more traditional 'fleet racing' events, the match racing involves a number of highly skilful head-to-head competitions, until one emerges victorious. This challenge resonates 1O1O's philosophy to empower high achievers to realise their dreams and become the best in their field of interest. We look forward to giving the match racers and the spectators another sensational and impressive experience!"
