London 6 Pack University Team Racing

by Alison Norbury 27 Nov 2013 21:04 GMT 23-24 November 2013

Saturday morning dawned with blue skies and enough wind for some good sailing. We clocked through races during the day with only a brief lunch break to let the umpires warm up. A big thanks to them for sticking it out until sunset to enable us get as much racing in as possible.

After warming up we all headed out for the Saturday Night Social and some free drinks provided by our Sponsors Summer Sail Week.

Evidence of the great time had by all who came out was to be seen on Saturday morning with a few hungover faces. However there was perfect breeze and racing kicked off at 10am. We finished the round robin in the morning with each team getting 14 races.

After a brief break we headed into semi's and finals. The first semi saw a Cambridge showdown with Cambridge Blue seeing off Cambridge Pink to earn their place in the final. Serpentine beat Royal Thames in the second to ensure that they had a chance for the top spot.

Cambridge Blue beat Serpentine in two extremely close final races to claim the win and £600 worth of holiday vouchers courtesy of Summer Sail Week. Well done to Cambridge Blue as it's a while since a university team has won the 6-Pack.

Thank you to everyone who came, all of the umpires, Amanda and all of the London and Imperial helpers.
