New website for the Bloody Mary

by Tony Bishop 14 Nov 2013 07:17 GMT 11 January 2014

The Bloody Mary is back for another magical day on Saturday 11th January, 2014.

The UK's largest inland dinghy pursuit race was established in 1974 so this will be the 41st Bloody Mary at Queen Mary Sailing Club. In its history it is estimated over 20,000 sailors have taken part and it has attracted competitors from all over the UK and the Continent. This year sees the launch of a new website and the introduction of Boat Tracking.

The new website www.thebloodymary.org.uk is a visual feast of pictures, twitter feed and all things BM with an area dedicated to the event history showing the past winners, pictures and reports through the years. The site also has links to the all important ENTER portal a service provided by SailRacer as part of the 2013-14 GJW Direct SailJuice Winter Series.

Queen Mary has just become the first 'TracTrac centre of excellence' adopting the system as the club's boat tracking solution used for improving service at events and to support better coaching. The Bloody Mary will be using TracTrac primarily to track the International Moths as they fly around the race course and this will feed 'Live' to a large TV in the club and around the world online, there is a tracking link on the new website. Trackers will be used on a limited number of boats in 2014 to help speed up results and also bring a new dimension for spectators.

We look forward to seeing you at the event and if you can not make it we hope you tune in to watch it on TracTrac.
