Blithfield Barrel Series starts on Sunday

The first instalment of the Barrel series takes place this Sunday. This round, sponsored by HD Sails, is always a massive event and we have everything in place to make it a fantastic day's sailing.

Gossip on the street is that last year's winners have changed their steed to compete on level terms with regular winner Matt Biggs. Will former winner Andy Couch bring his Phantom to upset the apple cart? Richard Instone was seen practising in his GP14 in Sunday's gale, and with breeze forecast could be a force to be reckoned with. There are also rumours of a raid being planned by the OK fleet, and the local Osprey hotshots will no doubt be rubbing their hands together with glee looking at Windguru.

Racing starts at 12:00 and entry for the series this year will be £40, or £15 for the weekend. Hot food is available from the galley and the bar will be open. Further details and directions to the club can be found on the Blithfield Sailing Club website.
