2014 sees a new event on the calendar with the Enterprise, Lark, Merlin Rocket, National 12 and Scorpion fleets all heading to sunny France for 4 days next May and we are pleased to announce that leading insurers, GJW Direct, will now be sponsoring the event, providing prizes and financial support to help create as good an event as possible.

Speaking about the event Mike Dyble from GJW Direct said:
"It's great to be able to support such an exciting new event as this, which shows real initiative by the organisers. Since launching our all-inclusive Dinghy insurance policy two years ago we have been supporting and sponsoring sailing events and association classes as part of our commitment to the success and future of dinghy sailing and racing."

In addition to sponsorship from GJW Direct, discounts have been agreed with Brittany Ferries and Les Menhirs campsite in Carnac Plage, helping to reduce the cost of both getting there and staying there. The event is being held over the bank holiday weekend at the start of half term though so early booking is recommended. They have also extended the valid dates for these deals for anyone wanting to stay on for a longer holiday...

Information on these deals, the event in general and more can be found online at www.carnac2014.org.

Entry is open on the website and 50 boats have signed up already; you can see who else is coming at carnac2014.org/?page_id=159 or add your own entry to the list at carnac2014.org/?page_id=157. All entries received before January will also receive free event t-shirts for both helm and crew.

25 events, 23 wins, one World title, four National titles, and one that got away! Event sees beautiful sportsmanship and yields beautiful report writing I don't know about anyone else, but I'd almost forgotten, what with the various unpleasantnesses of the past few years, what a joy France can be.
