Quite a few people turned up for the Enterprise Open at Southport but only 6 boats took part in the day's racing. A cold but mainly sunny day was to be had but a strong westerly wind gusting to force 7 at times.

Race 1 - At the start Matt Velamail & Tim Brownell (Ulley SC) were taken out by Alan & Matt Johnson (Southport SC). Alan created the best start and led the race for the first lap. Matt & Tim sailed very quickly one the first lap to move into second place. Over the next few laps Matt and Tim caught and overtook Alan & Matt to take the lead. The wind was very strong with gusts of force 7 this created boats to retire with James Morley & Rachel Burkitt (Ulley SC) breaking their Kicker. Alan Roberts and Royston Taggart (Pilkington SC) managed to break their rudder blade. Matt & Tim went onto win the race with Alan in second and Jonathon Woodward & Megan Ward (South Staffs SC) in third.

Race 2 was held back to back, Matt led from Start to finish winning the race and the Open meeting. The wind had decreased a little with Jonathon in 2nd and James in third closely behind the leader.

A rest and food was served fish and chips with mushy peas followed by apple pie and custard for dessert. The meal was enjoyed by all.

Race 3 soon started with Jonathon in the lead, James in second and Paul Young & Phil Harrison in third. They all finished in the same positions.

At the Prize giving Matt & Tim were awarded the November Plate for winning the open and winning the Enterprise North West Area Top Helm Series for 2013. Paul Young and various crews Phil Harrison and Megan Ward were awarded for winning the Silver Fleet Salver for the Enterprise North West Area Top Helm Series 2013.
