In an act of immense kindness, the owner of an ETAP 26 is selling his yacht for the benefit of UK charity Sail 4 Cancer. The boat is being brokered by Boatshed Lancashire and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the charity.

The 26 foot yacht made by ETAP Yachts in Belgium is being sold under Sail 4 Cancer's 'Donate Your Boat' initiative which provides boat owners with a tax efficient way to dispose of their vessels whilst helping Sail 4 Cancer.

This lifting keel version of the extremely popular four berth ETAP 26 was made in 1986 and comes complete with road trailer and a full suite of Blackmore sails. The yacht has been used on Lake Windermere for the past ten years and is in good condition.

Commenting on his gift, Richard Wakefield, the boat's owner said "Alchera which means 'dream time' in Aboriginal, has been a cherished member of the family for many years but it is time for her to find a new home now that we are spending more and more time overseas. Sail 4 Cancer is a great little charity which does some excellent work and I am delighted to be in a position to support them."

Chris Stone, Trustee at Sail 4 Cancer said "Sail 4 Cancer's Donate your Boat initiative provides boat owners with a tax efficient way to dispose of their assets whilst helping the charity at the same time. We can either use a donated boat to provide respite days for cancer patients and their families, or we can sell the vessel and turn it into funds through our partnership with Boatshed."

Chris continued "If the boat is being sold, our model enables boat owners to quickly dispose of their vessels without incurring any more costs. This is particularly helpful for people who are facing escalating maintenance costs or where monthly mooring or storage costs are becoming a burden. There are also tax benefits under Gift Aid which make our model even more attractive."

He concluded "Richard's incredible generosity will make a massive difference to a small charity like Sail 4 Cancer. With a lick of paint and a spot of varnish, this boat will look absolutely superb. In addition to thanking Richard and his family, we'd like to extend our thanks to the team at Boatshed for their considerable support."

If you're interested in purchasing Alchera, please contact Simon Hall at Boatshed Lancashire on 07850 738 303. For photos and a more information on the yacht, visit Boatshed Lancashire's website at lancashire.boatshed.com/etap_26-boat-164777.html
