A Cambridge University team sailing Swallow Curlew, which across the week was sailed by Fiona Hampshire, Arthur Henderson, Honor Fell, and Tim Palmer, were worthy overall winners of the Swallow Class at Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week. They were also third in the Under 25 Trophy (all crew members under 25 years old) across the whole White Group of day boats. They won two of the 7 races and finished just 2 points ahead of Paul and Tom Ward, David Sloper and Jeremy Sibthorp in Cockersootie. Third, a further 2 points back, was Solitude with Anthony Lunch, Andrew Reid, Chris David and Nick Fenner.

As it has done for several years, the Swallow Class Association has supported teams of young sailors in Swallows lent by members and this was the first time that one of these young teams has won the week defeating all the class regulars. Following on this success, the class intend to continue this support in future years and will be happy to hear from young sailors who will be under 30 years old next August.

Overall Results: (seven races, 1 discard)
