Richard Paul Russell Ltd launch AutoHoot (The Race Officers Assistant)

by David Ellis, R-P-R Ltd. 13 May 2013 12:56 BST 13 May 2013

Sailing Clubs and associations looking to simplify race starts and eliminate timing errors should look no further than the AutoHoot by Richard Paul Russell Ltd. Already used by many high profile sailing clubs and events.

Richard Paul Russell Ltd recognise that many clubs, associations and events are looking to standardise and simplify the race starting process to assist race officer's and volunteers, ensuring competitors get accurate and consistent timings for every start. The AutoHoot comes with over 30 pre-programmed starting sequences including Rule 26 (5-4-1), Match Racing, Team Racing and Countdown. In addition the user can programme bespoke sequences if required.

Manufactured using highly durable ABS plastic with a waterproof seal and stainless steel switches, the unit is ready to connect to horn and battery. A horn and USB cable are available separately.

Martin Smethers (IJ NRO) Says about AutoHoot "AutoHoot is a great addition to a race officers tool box, I have used AutoHoot for the conventional fleet racing 5,4,1,0 sequence, for single and rolling starts and when running team racing events with upwards of 60 races a day. It simplifies the starting process and helps deliver a quality event for all sailors and clubs."

The AutoHoot retails from £198 inc. VAT and is available online at www.r-p-r.co.uk or call sales on +44 (0) 1590 679755.
