The Banks Sails sponsored Weston Grand Slam is nearly upon us. The 3 day event (March 29-31) is the South Coast's annual tune up event and will once again be providing large fleet racing and great fun for all. This year the event is sponsored by long established sail and accessory makers, Banks Sails and will be split in to the 5 categories below, with Banks Sails prizes awarded for the highest ranking in all.

  • Catamaran
  • Fast Handicap
  • Medium Handicap
  • Slow Handicap & Medium Asymmetric
  • Slow Handicap
This year's format witnesses a revision to previous years with Ben McGrane (current International 14 & Contender National champion) on the water for all of Friday's races providing championship winning tips on how to get the best from your boat and crew. Ben will also be providing a video debrief after racing in the club bar, showing some of the day's selected moments for all to learn from.

Based on the tidal shores of Southampton Water, Weston SC are looking forward to welcoming the cream of the local talent as well as those that will travel from further afield. Current weather forecasts are indicating an upturn in weather conditions, with slightly higher temperatures and sunshine throughout the weekend.

A full social program is scheduled for the event, with free Camping available on site to allow you to indulge as your heart desires. Tents, motorhomes and caravans can be placed on the picturesque field between Netley castle and the club house, and will be open open from Thursday evening for early arrivers. Registration will be from early on Friday 29th, with the first start scheduled for 11:00am.

  • Friday: Coaching debrief, bar open, combined take away for those that want to take part
