Try a Minisail cancelled at Whitefriars Sailing Club

by Rupert Whelan 22 Mar 2013 09:49 GMT 23-24 March 2013

The Minisail/CVRDA Training Weekend, with "Try a Minisail" has had to be cancelled, due to the appalling weather we are due this weekend.

Looking at the latest forecasts, the more pessimistic ones appear to be coming true, so it is with heavy heart that we have to cancel the training this weekend. Partly, it is because the sailing looks too dangerous; 0 degC with -7 windchill and 34 mph gusts sounds like too much of a risk.

Also, we don't want people travelling needlessly, both from a road-safety point of view and because of the likelihood of a wasted journey with no sailing at the end of it.
