Royal St George Yacht Club win Millennium Bowl

Royal St. George Yacht Club win the Millennium Bowl biennial triangular team racing event © RStGYC

The biennial triangular team racing event between the Royal Thames Y C, the Royal Northern & Clyde Y C and the RStGYC was held in J80s on Queen Mary Reservoir in London last weekend.

After three round robins in light airs the George team beat a strong RN&CYC team which included many rock stars from the team and match racing circuit. The final tally was 9 wins to the George, 8 to RN&CYC and 1 to RTYC.

The Millennium Bowl is a magnificent silver trophy presented originally in 1902 to the RTYC by the German Emperor.

The George team helms were Andrew Fowler, Ireland's 1980 Olympic silver medallist - David Wilkins, and team captain Tim Pearson.
