AMEX Bosphorus Cup at Istanbul, Turkey - Day 2

by Icarus Sailing Media 3 Jun 2012 07:23 BST 31 May - 3 June 2012

Beautiful sailing conditions in an exceptional course area

The day could not be better for the boats competing at the American Express Bosphorus Cup 2012. Strong breeze, sailing by the best sights of Istanbul and an amazing audience along the European and Asian coasts, were only some of the highlights today.

The boats started outside Dolmabahce Palace and passed under the Bosphorus Bridge before they continue downwind to the second bridge.

Finally after two loops inside the Bosphorus Strait the boats finished in front of Reina Club and the high class visitors that were there to witness this spectacle.

Kia Lukunku had a great performance today and passed on top of the leaderboard in front of Goblin 3 that was leading yesterday. In third place is Fenerbahce 1 Garanti Sailing.

Tomorrow is the last day for the American Express Bosphorus Cup 2012 and the pressure is on. The place for the boat to compete at the Melges 32 Europeans in Porto Cervo is still open and the candidates many.
