Royal Escape Sailing Instructions Published

by Steve Vyse 29 May 2012 07:04 BST 1 June 2012

With the race fast approaching we have now published the Royal Escape Racing Documents including the Sailing Instructions, which can be downloaded here.

We are not expecting you to print these out, as a full set of documents will be provided to you in the race packs. Our intention in publishing online is so that you can have a quiet browse in advance and if you have any questions you can then bring them along to the Race Briefing on Thursday 31 May at Sussex Yacht Club (where you can also sign on from around 19:00).

Fleet Splits

The fleets and start time list will be published before the Race Briefing - we have some late entries, withdrawls and handicapping issues to deal with. I'll email again to let you know when they are ready.

Briefing Coach

We are again running a coach from Brighton Marina to the briefing at SYC and back again. The coach filled up last year so if you want a place you'd better sign on early (if demand is high we can always lay on two coaches but we need some notice). To book seats email including your skippers name, the boat name and the number of crew that wish to ride.

You can view seat bookings so far on the website here.

Saturday Night Meal at SRF

Following on from the huge success last year our good friends at our host French Yacht Club SRF are again arranging an informal meal on Saturday evening before the disco party. From 6pm they will be serving a full dinner with various cold plates comprising vegetables, pork meat, cheese, dessert etc prices at a reasonable 15 Euros.

Close to 60 diners enjoyed this meal last year and we understand everybody enjoyed it. This isn't an official race dinner as such, rather an economical alternative to a restaurant, which if you have a huge crew might make sense.

The meal is payable to SRF on the night but we do ask you to reserve places by emailing your name, boat and how many tickets to reserve to

You can view meal reservations so far on the website here.
