Great Britain’s Olympic and Paralympic-bound sailors are to receive a Royal send-off following confirmation that HRH The Princess Royal will attend the coveted 2012 Sail for Gold Ball.
The Ball, to be held on Wednesday 13 June at the London Hilton on Park Lane, takes places every four years and will mark the official send-off for Britain’s sailors before their quest for medals for Team GB and ParalympicsGB begins in earnest on the Weymouth and Portland waters this summer.
HRH The Princess Royal, President of the RYA, will head the list of guests at this prestigious celebration, which is set to include some of Britain’s past sailing medallists – for whom there will be a special tribute on the night – as well as special guests from the worlds of commerce, politics, the arts and the media.
Guests at the Sail for Gold Ball 2012, which is generously sponsored for the fourth time by Peter Harrison, will enjoy a Welcome Reception, three course dinner, dancing and a fun-packed evening including a Live Celebrity Auction, a Silent Auction and a Raffle with some exclusive prizes and experiences up for grabs.
Funds raised from the Ball help to support future generations of Skandia Team GBR sailors along the way to achieving their medal-winning ambitions.
There is still time to be a part of British sailing’s biggest celebration in this all-important year. Tables of 10 (maximum) cost £2012 if you book before 1 May (£2700 after) and individual tickets cost £201.20, rising to £270 after 1 May.
