Free sailing at Bough Beech in April © Trevor Chanter

Bough Beech Sailing Club is keen to attract new members and is offering the opportunity to sail for free during April. The membership year starts on 1st May but anybody who joins now will be able to sail during April too so will get 13 months of sailing for the price of 12. Plus, the club is offering a free dinghy hire session and 10% off sail training for new members and with under 16 membership at just £38 per year it is excellent value.

The Commodore, Trevor Chanter said "BBSC is a real gem and the club is always complimented by visitors on the friendly atmosphere, good food in the galley and superb location. I suspect that plenty of local sailors and those wishing to try this great sport are not aware that the club exists and is open to new members."

Bough Beech Sailing Club is based on 250 acres of reservoir nestling in the hillside between Westerham, Edenbridge and Sevenoaks. The wind is unobstructed from the south of the reservoir and the elevated position provides good winds from the prevailing south west. BBSC has good quality racing almost every weekend, as well as members who are content to cruise around our reservoir set in the beautiful Weald of Kent. The club is active in training both for adults and juniors and so newcomers to the sport are always welcome as are regular sailors who may be looking for a friendly club with competitive fleets and fees. Every other weekend the club offers supervised junior sailing "Pirates and Buccaneers" which places the emphasis on fun.

The club hosts many open events with the Laser 2000s, RS200s and Toppers amongst those who visit every year. The club also hosts National events and for the first time will be holding the Classic and Vintage Dinghy Racing Association National Championships over the August Bank Holiday.

Come and take a look any weekend.
