Rowsell Sails Merlin Rocket Travellers at Tamesis Club - Week 5

by Charlie Morgan 6 Feb 2012 19:39 GMT 5 February 2012

4 Merlins braved the cold for the ninth race of the Rowsell Sails sponsored Tamesis Traveller Series.

Race 9

Matt P-J and Dana in Masquerade gave Mike Stephens and Sel, sailing Flinkidink, a run for their money but Mike just pipped it. Ken and Brian, in Harry, were third followed by Charlie Morgan and John Adams in Lady Anne. Three short laps were sailed.

1st Mike Stephens and Sel Shah, Flinkidink
2nd Matt P-J and Dana Church, Masquerade
3rd Ken Duffel and Brian Corking, Harry
4th Charlie Morgan and John Adams, Lady Anne

Race 10

David Vines and Richard Harris, with their respective crews Fiona and Harry, joined the four for the 2nd race of the day. Richard was over the line at the start but still managed to go round the 1st mark second behind David Vines. Lady Anne was also over the line but she was last at the first mark. Passing Cloud took the lead on the second windward leg after a good tacking duel with Vines. Mike Stephens pushed David Vines for second place but the overall placing after 4 laps was:

1st Richard and Harry Harris, Passing Cloud
2nd David Vines and Fiona Bolwell, Elusive
3rd Mike Stephens and Sel Shah, Flinkidink
4th Matt P-J and Dana Church, Masquerade
5th Charlie Morgan and John Adams, Lady Anne
6th Ken Duffell and Brian Corking, Harry
