First West Riding Northern Brass Monkey Series cancelled

by John Gledhill 31 Dec 2010 14:38 GMT 2 January 2011

Now is the winter of our discontent… Although the thaw is underway, the ice flow that is Winterset Reservoir remains stubbornly in place and a decision has been taken to cancel the opening day of West Riding SC’s 2011 Northern Brass Monkey this Sunday, 2nd January. As global warming resumes, it is hoped that the water will be in a sailable state for the series to get under way on Sunday 9th January.

The Northern Brass Monkey Series is open to monohulls with PY 908 – 1386. There are two back-to-back handicap races each week through to 6th March, with the first start at 12 noon, and 50% of races started counting towards the series. Entry fee is £15 per boat for the whole series or £2 per boat per day. There is a free berth if you require, in our secure compounds.
