Neil Wood romped to victory in the second round of the Winter PM Fast Yacht Series off Port Edgar.
The skipper took full advantage of a great start to take an early lead and increased his advantage after the first mark when some of the yachts had to take avoiding action due to shipping in the Forth Estuary.
And the Port Edgar-based yachtsman, making his debut in the Winter Series after missing the first event, maintained his advantage with his Sigma 8 Metre during the remainder of the race which was blessed with winds of around Force Three.
Second home was Port Edgar clubmate Simon Howell in his First 30 ES yacht called Jezebel and he leads the series by two points from David Wilson's X 332 called Madog and RoBo, a Ronautica RO340, skippered by Jock Blair. Both sail out of Port Edgar.
Robet Yates' Scooter and Phil Walter's Whippersnapper are joint leaders of the Hunter 707 class while Alex Mackie's Westerley GK 24 called GeeKay, based at Burntisland Sailing Club, and the Dufour 1800 called Augerge skippered by Arthur Dickson from Port Edgar, are joint leaders of the slow yacht series. GeeKay won the second round with Auberge in second spot.
The second round of the Winter AM Series was hit by light winds and four of the seven fast yachts who entered failed to complete the course - several of them timed out by yards.
A Sonar called Wombat 2 (unattached) won with Madog second and RoBo third while the rest were trapped on the final leg between the Forth Rail Bridge and the Forth Road Bridge when the wind died.
Madog and RoBo lead the series with six points, three ahead of Andy Burns' EuRoBo.
All six of the slow yachts who entered also failed to complete the course but Chris Hall's Hustler 25.5 called Cherry Pye leads the class after two rounds with John Mitchell's H Boat called Highlander in second place. Both are from Port Edgar.
Minto, an RS 400 skippered by Alistair Reid, leads the charge for the Winter AM series dinghy title after the first round with the Europe class Eorpa out of Port Edgar skippered by Val Ludlow second and Peter Collings Laser called Retro third.
