Merlin Rocket Nationals at Penzance Sailing Club - Day 1

by PZSC 15 Aug 2010 21:02 BST 15-20 August 2010

Glorious sunshine, calm seas and a fairly steady NNE wind eased us into the Championship week, with the one lap practice race followed by the first race of the series.

Four laps on course A (old 'Olympic' with windward finish) spread the fleet out across beautiful Mount's Bay, but didn't present any serious challenges to the fleet.

As the week progresses we expect stronger winds and higher seas with some rain so that is unlikely to remain the case!
