The start of the 2010 season sees the Yachting World Dayboat class (boat test in the March issue of Y&Y) gearing up for a busy summer.
The class has fleets at Poole YC with 40 to 50 boats, Gravesend SC with 20+ boats, Thornbury SC with 10 boats, Bosham SC with 10 boats; as well as representatives at Shearwater, Minehead, South Staffs, Newton Ferrers, Solway and Avon amongst other places.
The Nationals this year will be held at Salcombe between 29th May and 3rd June. Open meetings are at Poole on 14th and 15th August and Gravesend on 31st July and 1st August. All this preceded by a “Try-a-Dayboat” day at Poole on 3rd May.
In addition, a “workshop” visit by Mike McNamara of McNamara Sails to Poole YC will get people thinking and planning.
More information on any of these events and on the class generally can be found on the Class Association’s website.
