Speed Sails have moved production of their multiple championship winning GP14 hull to Winder Boats.
Winder Boats, recognised worldwide for their experience in building top quality race winning dinghies, will mould the hulls on behalf of Speed Sails who will continue to fit the boats out to their Championship winning specification. The fit out will be overseen by Simon Potts who has recently joined Speed Sails to assist with the day to day running of the business. A former GP14 World and several times National Champion, Simon brings vast experience to the role.
This recent development has also seen a number of changes which will make this popular hull even better. Improvements to the quality of the mould, jib cars moved aft, lighter bow and stern and an all round stiffer construction are just some of the changes that have been made.
Winder Boats will also be manufacturing the Speed Sails moulded foils, although customers will still have the option to go for a Milanes option.
Speed Sails are also working on the development of a laminate mainsail which it is anticipated will be adopted by the GP14 Class Association in January 2010.
