Solo Open at Seafarers Sailing Club

Twenty-one boats enjoyed some excellent sailing in sunny weather, a fresh breeze and some sizeable waves in a typical Solent chop. The lighter wind in the morning race proved ideal for Vanda Jowett who led from start to finish. Six boats chased her hard and traded places in some very close racing but it was Paul Hurn and Mike Ball who won through to take second and third places.

In the afternoon, the rising sea breeze made for more challenging conditions with many capsizes and DNFs. However, despite the valiant efforts of Daniel Goodman, Mike Ball and Vanda Jowett, it was Simon Hoult who proved to be master of the wind and waves; a clear winner in both the afternoon races.

Overall Results:

1st S Hoult (Weston SC)
2nd V Jowett (Littleton SC)
3rd D Goodman (Kingsmead SC)
4th M Ball (Papercourt SC)
5th P Hurn (Littleton SC)
