Heron Open at Chipstead Sailing Club

The Heron Southerns Open was held on at Chipstead Sailing Club on Sunday 5th July. A good WSW breeze together with perfect weather greeted the 15 boats of which 2 were visitors.

There were 3 races and Andy Dale and Claire Pickett from Upriver in Essex won each one, they were therefore the overall winners, 2nd were Mathew and Ben Pickett, also from Upriver and in third place were Jon and Verna Hunt, from Chipstead Sailing Club. The first lady helm prize went to Carol Martin with husband Bill as crew, CSC. Two junior crew awards went to Jordan Geer and Ashton Rowntree, CSC.

A special endeavour award went to Mike Hawksworth and John Dale as new CSC members. It was an excellent and successful day. Further information can be obtained from www.chipsteadsc.org.uk
