Milford Haven Port Authoritys Haven Regatta Series Preview

Now in its fourth year, Milford Haven Port Authority’s Haven Regatta Series is due to commence on 12th July, with the first event being run by Neyland Yacht Club.

The MHPA Haven Regatta Series is hosted at four clubs along the waterway - Pembroke Haven Yacht Club (PHYC), Pembrokeshire Yacht Club (PYC), Neyland Yacht Club (NYC) and Dale Yacht Club (DYC).

The event is sponsored by Milford Haven Port Authority, through its Community Programme, with money being divided between the participating clubs who each hold an individual event, with prizes for each regatta. The final event and prize giving is this year being hosted by Pembrokeshire Cruiser Racing Club (PCRC) at PYC, with prizes being presented by Claire Palmer, Head of Community Development of Milford Haven Port Authority.

Pembrokeshire Cruiser Racing Club administer offshore racing and are keen to encourage more people to give sailing a try. Steve Badham, Commodore of PCRC said of the series “The Haven Regatta series are thoroughly enjoyable events. The races are a great opportunity for everyone to become involved in cruiser racing. This is a fantastic way for new and experienced sailors to enjoy the waterway, with a competitive edge. We are grateful to Milford Haven Port Authority for their continued support of this successful event.”

The events are as follows:

12 July – NYC Regatta (1100 hrs)
19 July – PHYC Regatta (1100 hrs)
1 August – Angle Regatta (1300hrs)
9 August – DYC Regatta (1300 hrs)
16 August – PYC Regatta final event and prize giving (1100hrs)
