Herts Youth County Regatta at Bury Lake Young Mariners

by Mandy Horton 29 Apr 2009 15:13 BST 26 April 2009

Thirteen sailors attended the Herts Youth County Regatta at Bury Lake Young Mariners, Hertfordshire, on Sunday. They competed in four races in some very tricky gusty and shifty conditions.

Laser sailor Tom French was not troubled by the shifts and won all four races, despite some strong competition from fellow Laser sailor James Barton, who was second overall. Harry McVicar finished third in his RS300, whilst Radial sailors Liz Talbot and James Pyrah had a close battle behind but it was Liz who took fourth overall and also 1st lady. Topper sailor Matthew Aldous-Horne was 1st junior and also finished an impressive sixth overall.

Overall Results:

1st Tom French (Laser)
2nd James Barton (Laser)
3rd Harry McVicar (R300)
4th Liz Talbot (Laser Radial)
