Just Winning organised a 2 day training session to combine two good things; half term and Feva sailing! 30 Feva sailors spent Monday and Tuesday practising on the waters of Chichester Harbour under the watchful eyes of coaches Nathan Batchelor and Dave Cockerill. With the season soon approaching these 2 days have enabled both squad and non-squad sailors get practice in whilst others were ashore.
Monday morning was spent with Dave Cockerill leading a discussion on tides in the harbour, using his local knowledge and experience as RYA Topper National Squad Coach. Winds were light in the afternoon which really showed who understood the tide - the laylines were hard to figure out. The boats were kept ashore at Northney on Monday night from where we launched on Tuesday. More wind on Tuesday where we had a long downwind session to Hayling Island, really working on boatspeed, followed by 2 hours of upwind sailing to get home. Plenty of opportunity to make gains.
A good time was had by all, we hope to organise more training sessions in the future.
