For race three is was Collette Blair’s turn to port tack the fleet. Working her way to the right she had a good lead at the top mark but was closely followed by Jon Emmett, who also came from the left and Steve Cockerill who was leading the pack out of the right.
Down the run Blair and Cockerill went left, with Cockerill grabbing water at the last moment at the leeward mark, Emmett who went right dropped back a bit and rounded third. Cockerill went left up the next beat and extended his lead, Blair followed left but Emmett went right and managed to pass Blair.
On the reach Emmett closed the gap but down the run Cockerill pulled away to win convincingly at the finish. Blair very comfortably held onto third place.
Concern is now growing that it will not be possible to get the required four races to make a series, with it taking three days to get just two races and with just two days left. To make matters worse it appears day four will once again be thick fog and no wind.
