Under a week to Laser Pico nationals at Thorpe Bay

by Shaun Christian 16 Jun 2008 14:30 BST 21-22 June 2008

With under a week to the 2008 Laser Pico National Championship at Thorpe Bay Yacht Club the anticipation is starting to build. Saturday saw over 20 Pico’s sailing in the wetsuitoutlet.co.uk Pico Series getting their final practise in for next weekend. TBYC cadets know that a win will get their name on the club honours board but with a number of visiting sailors already registered the battle for top honours will be tight.

With over 45 Pico’s expected there is still time to enter, please go to tbyc.org for entry forms, notice of race and sailing instructions.

TBYC is a friendly family club and great facilities both on and off the water. With a restaurant serving hot and cold food and the cadet Mum’s providing free tea and cakes from the Boson's hut the weekend will be fantastic for both sailors and supporters.

Visitors are very welcome, we have plenty of boat storage and camping is also available. Saturday night includes Karaoke so bring your singing voice as we try to prove “Thorpe Bay’s got Talent”.

If you sail in all the races over both days you will get entered into the prize draw for a new Pico, courtesy of LaserPerformance. With Y&Y also sponsoring the weekend and a photographer out on the water you may even get to see yourself in a future edition.

We hope to see you next weekend.
