Erith Yacht Club, one of the most successful sports clubs in the Bexley Borough, held its Open weekend on 15th and 16th September 2007.

Saturday's racing for dinghies and yachts was thwarted by a fluky, light wind. However, yachts completed a short course and dinghies managed 2 races over a wind/leeward course.

A party on Saturday night, with a large turnout of members and guests, celebrated the offer of an award of £2.35m from the Communities and Local Government Thames Gateway Executive.

Sunday saw a heavier, gusty wind, which suited the 13 yachts that raced. Eight dinghies took to the water, for two more races.

Erith Yacht Club members welcomed guests, particularly those from Stubbers Young Mariners. Other members flew the EYC burgee at the Gravesham Trophy (yachts) and the scout celebrations at Thamesmead (dinghies).
