Hot, sunny... wind? You must be joking...

Mirrors

Lily Carlisle, of Ripon, showed her ability in the first race, taking pole position throughout, much to the anguish of her father Angus, who had to settle for second place. Ray Baskerville came a worthy third.

In the second race, Harry Yeoward, of Rhosneight, led throughout, with Ray and Lily in almost a photo finish at second and third.

In the last race Angus got his revenge, taking first, Ray coming a close second, and Harry just beat Lily for third place. All three races were hard fought, and young Matthew Escritt of Yorkshire Dales, overcame the distraction of his crew (father), and took a creditable 6th place.

Mirror Results:

1st 70456 Carlisle Angus (Ripon S.C.)
2nd 38744 Baskerville Ray (Beaver S.C.)
3rd= 70457 Yeoward Harry (Rhosneight S.C.)
3rd= 70324 Carlisle Lily (Ripon S.C.)
5th 70391 Hanson Inge (Ripon S.C.)
6th 68366 Escritt Matthew Yorkshire (Dales S.C.)
7th 70056 Towler Bob (Beaver S.C.)

Herons

The usual suspects attended. Dennis and Jo Beard, in their “nearly new” boat, proved that wind is not necessary, leaving Philip Lund, from Redesmere, to battle it out with Calum Polwart, from Derwent Reservoir S.C. for 2nd and 3rd places.

In the second, and third, races, the Beards used their local knowledge to win both, with Philip and Calum finishing in the aforementioned order, twice.

Heron Results:

1st 10070 Beard Denis (Yeadon S.C.)
2nd 10044 Lund Philip (Redesmere S.C.)
3rd 10092 Polwart Calum (Derwent Reservoir S.C.)
4th 7001 Elsdon Richard (Ribble S.C.)
