Enterprise Open at Redesmere Sailing Club

Nine competitors gathered for the Enterprise open meeting at Redesmere Sailing Club. The wind was gusting up to a force four at times.

Race 1: Tony Woods & Sam Woods went round the windward mark first followed by John Berry & Mark Russell both from Etherow SC. In 3rd was Alan Johnson & Roo Johnson from Southport SC followed by the rest of the fleet. The positions stayed the same.

Race 2: On the first beat the lead was taken over at least four or five times by different boats but eventually Tony Woods arrived first at the windward buoy. Alan Johnson was in 2nd and Charles Adams & Hannah Adams WLYC in 3rd. The last beat was very close with five boats having a chance of winning the race. Charles Adams was 3rd Alan Johnson 2nd and Tony Woods Finished 1st

Race 3: Tony Woods took the lead and Tim Finch & Jacky Finch Chester C & SC were 2nd by the second lap Steve Blackburn and John Berry overtook Tim Finch. By the last lap Tony woods RTD and Charles Adams took the lead. On the last beat Alan Overtook and finished 1st, Charles Adams 2nd & 3rd went to John Berry.

Broadwater Enterprise Open
Joint event with the Solo fleet at the end of March On Saturday 29th March, seven Enterprises arrived at Broadwater for the annual open meeting. This was a joint event with the Solo fleet. On arrival, competitors were treated to croissants, pain au chocolat and coffee. Posted on 22 Apr
Ron Beasley obituary
A seven-year joinery apprenticeship lead to being a world champion dinghy builder Ronald William Beasley was born on the 31st January 1931 and grew up in Bradley, Bilston in the Black Country. He left school at age fourteen. He then completed a seven-year joinery apprenticeship at 'Wilcocks' in Wolverhampton. Posted on 16 Apr
