Prima 38 One Day Regatta at the Royal London Yacht Club

The second event in the Prima inshore championship, organised by Royal London YC, was raced in a shifty NE force three in the central Solent. Guy Spurr's Kylidh took the first race, sailed over a short windward leeward course, from Tom Hayhoe and Natalie Jobling's Mostly Harmless, with the Army Sailing Association's Longbow third. In the second race, sailed over a longer single lap course with Gurnard as leeward mark, Kylidh won again from Longbow and Mostly Harmless. Race three used the same course as race one but this time Longbow was first, Mostly Harmless second and Kylidh third.

Efficient race management meant that race four was longer: two laps with marks off Hill Head and Cowes. Mostly Harmless won the start but Longbow exploited the shifts to lead at the first mark before Kylidh passed them downwind. Don Kennedy's Oz Privateer, Sailplane sailed by John Danby, and Stephen Hinton-Lever's Gusto passed them early in the second beat, but by the last windward mark they were tailing Kylidh again. With Kylidh defending against Longbow and sailing high, Mostly Harmless sailed deep to lead at the finish from Longbow, giving all three equal points, with Kylidh first overall on tie-break from Mostly Harmless.
