Team Shirley Robertson leave worlds on a high

After a slightly disappointing week for Olympic gold medallist Shirley Robertson and her team mates Sarah Ayton and Sarah Webb, the team left the Yngling world championship on a high, winning the final race of the event.

The British team were back on form in the 12 knots of sea breeze and won the race from the German team of Kristin Wagner, Anna Holl and Veronika Lochbrunner. This result saw them move up to finish sixteenth overall.

Trine Palludan, Christina Otzen and Ida Hartvig finally got the better of their Danish team mates, Dorte O’Jensen, Helle Jespersen and Rachel Kiel, beating them by two points to take the gold medal.

Robertson, Ayton and Webb will now return home for a short break before competing in SPA Regatta, Holland from the 26-30 May.
