H22 class launch new website

by Adam Greene 15 Apr 2004 10:37 BST

The H22 class association is pleased to announce its new web presence providing an updated and refreshed service for its class and sailors. The class numbers now stand at nearly 50 helped with the introduction last year of the ‘One Design H22’.

The H22 sportsboat has been growing steadily over the past 8 years to become a truly international class comprising of both Prefix (wood) and GRP constructed vessels.

There are large fleets growing over Europe, especially in Italy, Sweden and the UK. Prefix craft have been racing in Antigua week and Sportsboat regattas in Sydney harbour. There is now a national league and overall championship running in Italy this year.

Different sail and layout arrangements exist within the prefix class which led to rapid development in the new composite H22 produced by Lion Yachts in Latvia. You can click on distributors section for more information on purchasing new prefix and GRP craft. There is also a second hand section for used boats and associated items.

Regattas for the class this summer include:

  • North Sails Cup (SUI)
  • Blu Rimini (ITA) 3rd – 6th June
  • Cork Week (IRE) 10th – 16th July
  • German Open (GER) 28th -31st July
  • Euro League Finals (GER) 15th – 17th October
  • Skandia Cowes Week (GBR) 7th – 14th August
  • European Championship – (SUI) – 13th - 17th August

The website still needs to build its owner database, so please log on and amend or upload your correct details. Next on the list will be a sailors forum which should be ready in a few weeks. Take a look at www.H22.org
