Cadet Worlds in Nieuwpoort, Belgium - Day 2

by Steve Proffitt 4 Aug 2003 22:05 BST

Day two of the World Championships belonged to James Wade and Katie Barr. Sailing in a Force 2 with a slight chop to the sea they won both of the races to be placed second overall in the event and looking good for the lead with the discard kicking in after the next race. All the other British Team scored top twenty places in both races except Jodie who after a sixth in the first was caught out by the Black Flag. This still leaves all the team in the top twenty one places.

At the start of the first race five of the team managed perfect port end flyers leaving the rest to play catch up. Andrew finished fourth, Jodie sixth, Oren twelth, Elliott thirteenth, Guy fifteenth and Adam seventeenth.

The second race saw Adam fifth, Andrew ninth, Elliott tenth, Oren fourteenth and Guy nineteenth.

The Brits continue to dominate the Promotional Fleet and now hold the top twenty four places. Race three was won by Georgie Blaver-Mann and Chris Brewer. Second was Katrina Hughes and Francesca Smith with Thomas Makey third.Race four saw Andrew Twin and Aaron Woolf take the gun from Thomas Makey and Jonathon Moss. This leaves Thomas leading overall from Jonathon.
