What you need to do Nigel is wait till the other half is away then bring it all indoors and do it in front of the tv.  That's what I did with my rudder last night - and yes, I have had a laser in the house before now!

The same incident that caused the gel-coat damage also damaged the centreboard and the remedial work has indeed taken place in the house (epoxy then filler and now paint !)

P.S. I did consider bringing the hull into the house LOL
