I'm just not convinced and will be very interesting to see the foiling 18 compete against a competitive non-foiling 18, if that ever happens. Saying that though, the Hyrdroptere design is quite large in scale and is very successful, but reckon the foiling 18 needs a whole new rig developed with new sail plan to be successful. It works just now as it is but looks like it could be optimised much further.

12ft skiff- around the same speed as the 18 and only one crew to shout at if it goes wrong!!

I was going to say the 'C' word but i forgot the 12 is faster, but the deamon would give it a run for their money

Unless your thinking of a different 'C word' to the one im thinking of, Theres no reason why the daemon should be any different...

Claimed to be as quick downwind but doubt very much that it's the same case upwind.......

Or in light airs on any point of sailing.

What is the take-off windspeed for Cherubs and 12ft Skiffs, anyone?

ye i know the 18 is prob faster upwind and prob a bit smoother ride downwind but the 12 just looks fun.

i know for a fact that most newish cherubs takeoff on about 10kts depending on the helms and the smoothness of the wind, and the 12 is prob about the first sign of wind!

Ur right the Daemon isnt going to be any diffrent beacuse their was 2 cherub that came 1st and 2nd in the 12ft national last year!
