They appear to be quite quick in the breeze. Not sure how though with a piece of bog roll for a kite

Going out with Louise on Sat, then maybe Jane on Sunday.

You going to the D+D? I won't be there but my Father's going to collect his trophy- I haven't told him I've bought another boat, yet

It was one of the old Holt blocks they used on the early boats, and I was sheeting in at the leeward mark! There was a bang and a shower of plastic: Basically the pulley bit split in half so the sheet was going round the spindle. It was useable, but rather heavy and harsh on the sheet! I did show it to Nick Peters, on my way to the chandlery, (just out of interest), but it's boat no 660, and I guess the block was original, so a few years old. I replaced it with a Harken carboratchet thingy, not cheap, but looks good. Incidentally, the Solo also has one of the Holt ratchets, but it looks like a newer model.
