To scull a boat, you need a transom. That rules out many of the boats owned by people on here!

I presume most boats have a rudder that is attached in some way to the rest of the boat. So there is somewhere to rest a scull.

And of course Welsh sailors, used to crossing the ocean in their coracles know that you can scull without the oar/paddle touching the boat!
