All new Nacra 17 with 2 part carbon mast and curved boards (scaled down Nacra F20 Carbon with all up weight of 130Kg)

Although labelled as a Nacra 17 it is in fact 17'6" long!...more detailed info to follow....

If the 17 doesn't get picked as the Olympic Multihull will Nacra make it anyway?

I think this will depend on demand, but given that the design is expected to easily outperform the F18 and the tooling will already be in place it will be a distinct possibility that it will go in production regardless of Olympic selection...

I don't know about the entire box rule but can confirm that curved boards and carbon mast are banned by F18 class rules....

That's what I had thought. Chris Field says that on the 'A' class they are no better to windward, straight boards generally faster, but curved boards lift a boat, sailed flat, out of the water downwind. Would a double-hander be any different?
