Has anyone got any sailing books they recommend?

I've recently finished Ellen MacArthur and Pete Goss' books and looking for something else to move on to.

Preferably modern rather than the Aubrey-Maturin type.  Has anyone read Emma Richards book, if so whats that like?  Same for Tony Bullimore and Tracy Edwards really.

Many thanks

Hugh

If you like Maritime fiction, then can I suggest Patrick Robinson's books.   Kilo Class is probably the best, but they are all worth a read.  The stories start with Nimitz Class.

Tracy Edwards book is definatly worth reading, better than ellens in my opinion.

you said that you'd rather something more modern than jack aubrey but alexander kents books on richard bolitho are fantastic especially that earlier ones in bolitho's career.

I recommend the book about the 98 Sydney Hobart
race (the one with the really bad storm - six sailors
drowned). Not a happy book at all, but very gripping -
and definately makes you aware of how powerless
you can be when out sailing, and how important it is
to regard safety as your highest priority...

Can't remember it's name - but it should be easy to
find - worth a read.
