Recent purchases

   I recently bought a new cover from Speed Sails and a trolley from Mersea Trailers.

The cover is an O/B for a Lark and cost £140, I chose Speed for the resonable price and that the website suggested that it would be delivered in under a week. Just under a mounth later after I made 4 phone calls each time to be told it would be ready the following week the cover arrived. Luckly it fits well on the boat, but I'm not impressed with the quality compaired to the Pinnel & Pax one I got for the contender about 4 years ago, I guess time will tell and I'll have to see how it lasts.

When I brought the trolley I wasn't given a fixed delivery date but was told that it would be ready by the 17/3 at the latest. I called Mersea trailers last week and was given the impression that it would be hear this week. After calling this morning to check I have been promised that it will be ready by in two weeks.
I need the trolley as I am currently borring one form someone else who wants it back as soon as posisble.

I feel that I have been given poor service by both compaines, I don't think that I'd have minded if I'd been told how long things were actualy going to take, althought I may not have made the purchases.

I am just unlucky or am I been unreasonable has anyone else experneced similar problems?

	That is a bit excessive for two companies to give poor service but unless they blame high orders after both been at the boat show, they shouldn't lead the customers off in the wrong direction. Mersea trailers are near to the parents, and have been to the factory. My otherhalf was looking at box trailers for her father, we went down there and can honestly say that the flimsy thing they were trying to sell wasn't worths the money, so made his won. He wasn't impressed with them when he was after advice though. I'd say if you have paid for it, then keep chasing if not order elsewhere.

	chase mersea trailers seriosuly chase them. we ordered a new lowering double stacker it was a month late in the end. they just kept blaming it on the glavanizers. In the end I told them I was coming down to collect my money back or my trailer. Guess what they got the trailer ready on time amazing that. when I phoned to speak to the MD I got the impression that he really didnt care????

	O yeah and the jockey wheel didnt work on my new mersea trailer. guess what they wouldnt replace it not impressed.

	I took advantage of Speed Sails winter discounts at the end of last year to order a new cover and spinnaker for the Miracle. They matched a cheaper quote I had from elswhere on the cover and despite my assurance that I didnt need the Items till this March they were delivered within a couple of weeks of ordering. The cover is equal to any I have seen elswhere and we have won every race where I have used the new kite.... I am very happy with the service from them - despite it being months since they processed this order they have answered every query I have had promptly and explained things in terms a simple soul like me can understand

	when i ordered my undercover from speeds they originally said i would get it on a thursday. apparently they then had a late delivery of the material but upped the postage band (at no cost to me) and delivered the following tuesday. i did have to ring in order to find this out though. the undercover definately seems better quality than the LDC ones and £40 cheaper aswell.

	Never had a problem with Pinnell and Bax, jimmy green chandlery also seem good.

	I've dealt with several chandleries over the last few years and P&B have never dropped the ball once. Mailspeed marine were very disorganised, LDC were a bit poor on comunication but great on advice if you spoke to someone.
