hmm ye but put it infront of a rapid and try stay up and get big ride it would be ok or going across a small bay?

Looks quite dull to me... looses speed very quickly and and the tricks
he was describing boil down to 'crouch down and spin a bit before you
slow down and sink'.

It seems like a lame version of skim boarding. At least with skim boarding you don't need the whole bungee system and you can do it on pretty much any beach!
