Looks quite dull to me... looses speed very quickly and and the tricks he was describing boil down to 'crouch down and spin a bit before you slow down and sink'.

And "aim for an impressive-looking ramp and go for a pathetic plop off the end"... It made my 4-year old giggle for a bit.

It seems like a lame version of skim boarding. At least with skim boarding you don't need the whole bungee system and you can do it on pretty much any beach!

I'm sorry ?   I've not heard of and of my Brighton chums doing this.

Mind you, it does occur to me that just letting go of the board at maximum stretch would keep the people at the other end of the bungy on their toes.

rather than use it on an idylic river reserved for ents and british moths, use it on mud:

if you put the whole bungee skim board thing on some nice slippy mud it would probably go alot faster for longer without sinking (unless it was REALY soft mud). i suggest somewhere on the east coast.

TT, thanks so much for the reply.   As for "Three Men in a Boat", do we really know that gay was not used in it's more modern sense (vis a vis the homosexual community) by Jerome K Jerome.  The storyline and situation would appear entirely apt.

I agree with your Riverboarding comments and observations on bungees. I am not a real man however, based on the listed activities.   Which is not that disappointing to me, fortunately.

The americanness of the narrator and the patheticness of the acutal sport actually made me think it was a joke at first.  Especially the bit where it says: "it's good because rivers are everywhere, take a look at these two river maps" Really? I've never seen a river in my life!
An insight into feva_kid's hobbies - searching "good sailing" in google video.....come on, can't you be just a bit more imaginative??

Well for one; it's totally 'gay' to do anything with a bungee cord other than strap your spars to a roof rack or trailer.  [Anyone about to jump to the defence of other bungee-corded activities can step away from the keyboard now please- real men, rrraahhh; don't bungee jump; they sky dive; base jump or climb rocks using ropes with a maximum stretch of say 50%]

So I take you don't have any bungee in you boat, cause your a REAL MAN. therefore wooden hiking straps for you ( pre seat belt webbing) cuase they require no bungee cord and traps are out for you too.

Can someone over there please ensure his is being a real man, I can post the scissors.
