I assume everyone is getting paid to travel to Bermuda, there's a first prize of $5000 but that wouldn't cover the air fare ...

think its a normal regatta in that most pay their own way with a winners incentive, everyone had to be invited though, but i think you could just ask and you got invited

I'm sure a return flight to Bermuda from London carrying an 11ft 35kg box would cost more than a normal flight ;)

Not sure they're taking the boats on a plane, it's a bit of a myth I think. After hearing some Moth chat most containered out.

but there's also Australian nationals, NZ nationals blah blah where its hot windy and not uk winter fun etc

so getting people to go to Bermuda isn't actually that easy if you have to pay for flights, accom, shipping etc

that's why I thought it made sense because if you only have to fly its cheap winter fun sailing
