Anyone know who to contact?

I've just seen that the Yoof's been recorded as DNC, as has the Ent that finished directly in front of him, and the 2 Radials that were immediately behind....

oh crikey, what was the yoof in?  Probably Simon Lovesy at sail racer, though maybe also the club.  They did say they had lots of sets of recordings.  Hope they can sort it out.  We passed three Ents if that helps.
the same, but different...

Yoof was in the Radial (202471).
Finished behind Ent 55
Ahead of 202467 and 197716

All DNC.  Sounds like a bit of paper has gone missing to me (unless the lot of them missed a gate or something - I wasn't at briefing)

I know he wasn't in the frame for a prize or anything, but that's not the point...  When he came past the Clubhouse 3 mins before the end I counted him in about 46th (though there was a lot of faster boats coming up behind).  He really enjoyed himself today - was sat in 8th at the 1 hr point, which is always good for confidence.

I don't remember Ent 55, nor your boy, but I did see 197716, if that helps.

Not another pushy parent pushing their child's cause ...

If there is a results query all the competitor needs to do is enquire with the race organisation.

Cheers Nessa..... the 4 mentioned finished in a tight clump.  Did you see a really handsome fella ashore yesterday in military combat clothing, complete with beret?

Why don't you poke off with your snotty assumptions?

Possibly, just possibly, one of the parents is stationed hundereds of miles away from his wife and kids, and thus only had a short distance to drive after seeing his family for the 1st time in weeks.  Perhaps the other parent (and the child) are still on the road going home.  What's so wrong with me trying to find out my son's result? And finding out what HE should do/ who HE should contact because of a possible mistake?

From the report of the 1st day, those 420's with wings on the rudder were going great guns...

*sulks*

Sorry about the rant just now, but I do get fed up with the regular bashing on here that the RYA/Squad System/Suportive Parents get.

Just for the record, I (just like many others on here) have spent literally 1000's of hours over the last 5+ years helping to further our sport by coaching not just my own kids, but all those new to the sport at my Club.  Yes, there is a very small element of the "Pushy" type around, but for the most part parents are supporting their kids at these events.  More often than not parents are not allowed to set boats up at these events as the youngsters are far, far better and quicker at it than the oldies.  My wife and I did pack away the Yoof's boat today, but that's because he was proper cold (too cold out there for me to sail), and as responsible pareents of a 14 year old we need to look after him.

Yoof is NOT in a Squad this year, but he's still out there enjoying himself and his sport, which is all any of us can hope for where our kids' sailing is concerned.

If L123456 knew anything about me at all perhaps he/she wouldn't have posted like that.  After all, it'd be wrong if I did the same and made the assumption that he/she was either a "dropped" squaddie with unsupportive parents, or an aging Laser sailor which a chip on the shoulder about getting beaten by kids.  If he/she had read my recent posts, he/she would know about our non-pushy racing plans for this year already.

Nessa - I'll wear a red carnation in my button-hole at the next event and we'll have a pint Wink
