Bare hull without a deck came in at about 250g but im going to need a bit more structure inside to make up for the lack of compound curvature.
Having poped this hull I think id add in a balsa core for a bit of extra stiffness if I do anything like this again. Target weight for an IOM bare hull and deck is around 500g from what I can make out Edited by Isis |

Yep, thats the mould just prior to laying up the hull which is vac-bagged glass and epoxy.
The hull came off yesterday a tad heavier than hoped. Deck mould should be done in the next couple of days. |

Right on the model yacht but its not a uni project... 1m long, over 30cm wide with half a square metre of sail and movable balast... should be light too: aiming for 3kg all up.
