that's quite a nice looking lead-mine, can't say the D-One looks do it for me personally at dinghy proportions, but scale them up......

The quant 28 is hugh welbourn's DSS keelboat.  It does have a keel but only a very light one.  Most of the stability is provided by the DSS foil.  Works great when you're going fast but I imagine in gusty conditions or big chop it gets a bit confused and dumps you in from time to time.

I would hate to see what happens when you do broach and lose speed, getting it back up would be a pig I imagine!

I popped down to Lymington during the 'present unwrapping' - I really wanted to see how the two-section mast slots together. I've always been curious as to how a two-piece mast with track works and I have to admit I liked it. It's just like a windsurfer mast, but with a key pin to align the top and bottom section tracks.

They've also borrowed the quick release nuts from bicycle wheels and seats for the rack fastners and the boom gooseneck - these do make rigging the boat very quick.
